Start with the format
A search for sex parties or play parties in NYC can bring together events with very different purposes. A label alone does not tell you whether the evening centers on conversation, performances, education, intimate activity or a combination. Begin with the actual program. Look for a description of what guests can do, what admission includes and which activities have separate entry requirements.
Try this distinction when comparing listings: what is available, what is expected and what is optional? Those are three different questions. An event may make an activity available without expecting you to participate. If a listing leaves the distinction unclear, ask the organizer before buying a ticket.
Read beyond the ticket name
Check the date, time, venue information, arrival instructions and any stated eligibility requirements. If the exact address is withheld, find out when confirmed guests receive it. A premium ticket name is not a complete description of access. Compare the written benefits, and keep a copy of the terms that apply to your booking.
Ask practical questions that matter to you: Is there a scheduled introduction? Who can answer questions during the event? Are photography, re-entry or accessibility arrangements described? Avoid filling gaps with assumptions from another event; the same vocabulary can be used by different organizers.
Participation is a continuing choice
Consent is about the people and activity involved, not the ticket someone bought. Accepting an invitation to a party does not establish agreement to touch, sexual activity or being photographed. Decide what you are interested in before arriving, while allowing yourself to change your mind.
Life Itself uses the FRIES framework: freely given, reversible, informed, enthusiastic and specific. Its consent expectations apply across the event. Doorientation™ introduces those expectations; trained Regulators provide monitoring and guest support. Guests interested in designated Play Spaces must first complete The Vibe Check™.
Where Playjacent™ fits
Playjacent™ brings a changing mix of games, workshops, art, music, performances and unusual activities into one event. Every Playjacent™ event also includes designated, regulated spaces for public intimacy. Entering those spaces is optional. You can attend for the wider program and choose not to enter them.
For a first visit, read The Experience and the Consent Policy, then compare them with the specific event listing. The general format explains the approach; the listing establishes the actual date, programming, ticket benefits and admission information. Make your decision from both.
