PLAY CON™

☀️ PLAY CON™ ✈️
The 1st Play Conference
(at least since we hosted the 1st New York Play Week™ in June)

🪩 You’ve been to the parties. Let’s talk about what else we’re building.

Play takes many forms. Music, games, performance, creativity, connection, intimacy. 🎶🎲🎭 What happens when we stop treating them as separate worlds—and start building a cultural sector around them?

From the outside, Life Itself might look like a company that throws parties. Fair enough. That’s where we started in 2024, and the dance floor/Play Space/vendor village remains a very good place to meet us 🤪. But the parties are also where a larger idea becomes tangible: different forms of Play, different people, and different ways of connecting can coexist under one roof.

🏙️ What would it take to make that available beyond an occasional night out? To give Play permanent places, recognizable institutions, and a place in everyday life?

That’s what we mean by social infrastructure: the places, practices, and systems that make it easier for people to find one another and do something together. And building a cultural sector means developing the events, spaces, media, and institutions through which Play can become a truly integrated part of mainstream culture. 🌍

🎙️ Join Life Itself for a conversation and panel exploring:

🌱 Who we are, where we came from, and how our roots in nightlife and underground Play cultures became an ambition to normalize Play.

🎭 The intersection of all forms of Play—and what they have to offer one another.

🌃 The imperative for Playjacent™: bringing different ways to Play into mainstream nightlife, with room to explore and no requirement to participate in everything.

🏙️ Fourth4Space™: co-working and Co-Playing™, daytime and nighttime. Places where you could work, dance, take a class, take a nap, get creative, or get close. The social infrastructure our emerging sector needs.

🔭 What comes after the party: how events, permanent places, media, and new institutions could support one another—and what it takes to turn that vision into something people can actually use.
